Genius Music Group(G.M.G) signs Reggae/Dancehall-hall Artist 'Inna Flame'

Genius Music Group, Tamale based Record Label managed by one of Ghana's finest spinner,           DJ Sambo on Monday, may 11 signed the 'Meeting Tonite' hit maker Inna Flame.

Inna Flame, born Ankutse Edem in Tafo a town in Koforidua but hails from the Volta region of Ghana had his first single 'Will and Way' recorded in 2011, followed by 'The story' in 2012 then follows magic songs like show me, wonkoa, one day, Tonight, Meeting Tonite among others which he featured Sugar Ranking, Bredren B and Levels respectively.

Before the stars billed for Tigo Ghana Meets Naija storm stage to battle, we bring to you an in-depth profile of two of the acts Ghanaians will see on stage – Sarkodie and ReekadoBanks from the Mavins Crew.

 

The biggest concert for the year 2015, Tigo Ghana Meets Naija comes off on Saturday, May 23 at the Accra International Conference Center where three of Ghana’s biggest acts, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy will face Nigeria’s Mavin Crew.
After 4 successful shows in the previous years, this year’s event dubbed “Unleashing Unlimited Music” promises to be the biggest as the event celebrates its 5 year.
Before the stars from both countries storm stage to battle, we bring to you an in-depth profile of two of the acts Ghanaians will see on stage – Sarkodie and ReekadoBanks from the Mavins Crew.

SARKODIE

Known in real life as Michael OwusuAddo, Sarkodie is arguably one of Ghana’s finest talents on the bloc. He is a recording artist, entertainer, and brand ambassador. In 2012, he won the BET Awards for “Best International Act Africa”. Many Ghanaians recognize him as one of the Ghana’s leading hip hop and hip life artiste in the country.
He is considered one of the major proponents of the Azonto genre. Sarkodie often raps in his native language; Twi, and is considered a “multifaceted rapper” due to the various musical styles he possess.
In 2010, Sarkodie received many awards and nominations ranging from “Artist of the Year” to “Album of the Year”.
His sophomore album, Rapperholic, was the recipient of 3 Ghana Music Awards from 12 nominations. He is a brand ambassador for Samsung Mobile. In 2013, he signed an endorsement deal with FanMilk Ghana. Sarkodie is currently in partnership with Tigo Telecommunications Ghana, a brand that sponsored the 2013 Rapperholic tour. He has his own clothing line called “Sark by Yas clothing line”.
He was ranked 8th on Forbes and Channel O’s 2013 list of the Top 10 Richest African Artistes. He is the first ever Ghanaian to win the “Best International Act: Africa” at the BET Awards. Sarkodie has had the privilege of performing on the same stage with international musicians such as T-Pain, Movado, Trey Songz, and Ludacris among others. He has a large fan base in Africa and is considered one of the most celebrated musical icons to hail from Ghana.
He has to his credit three albums: 2009: Makye, 2012: Rapperholic and 2014: Sarkology.
Some of the recent hits of Sarkodie include ‘Whin Fi Me’, ‘Adonai’, ‘MegyeWo Girl’ and many others.
‘Obidi’ as he is fondly called has collaborated with some of Africa’s top artistes including M.anifest, D.banj, Wizkid, Efya, Ice prince, Tiw Savage, Efya, D-B lack, Aka, Burna Boy, Stonebwoy, Obrafour, Shatta Wale among others.

                                           REEKADO BANKS
The Marvin Records signee joined the record label in 2014 when he was a History and Strategic student of the University of Lagos. Born Solomon AyoleyiHanniel, Reekado Banks is a gifted singer, rapper and song writer whose contribution to the Mavins Crew cannot be underrated.
He went by the stage name Spicy prior to his record deal with the aforementioned label.Reekado Banks during the 2014 Headies was declared the Rookie of the Year.
He joined the Marvin Records when his brother submitted some of his songs to the label in an online talent search.
Hit songs of Reekado include "Turn It Up" which featured TiwaWavage, Don Jazzy’s produced song "Katapot, “Chop Am”,  and many others. Reekado Banks has also worked with his label mates to release the collaborative singles “Dorobucci”, "Adaobi", "Arise" and "LookuLooku".

Rapper, Tyga finally explains why he's dating Kylie Jenner

As far as Tyga is concerned, Kylie is more matured than most adults he's been with.

Tyga and Kylie Jenner have ruled the tabloids for months and that's because both still haven't confirmed if they are truly having an affair. But latest reports claim the rapper now ready to face the world and support his relationship with the teenager.

According to a close source of the rapper, Tyga loves Kylie because she is a strong independent lady.

Tyga is allegedly telling friends that as far as he's concerned Kylie is more mature than most adults [he's been with... Blac Chyna?] She's a millionaire who runs a company and even owns her own house.

Although laws prohibit adults from having sex with minors, Tyga says he "doesn't give a f*** about what the law says." Apparently he thinks age is relative, and there's nothing "morally wrong" with a mature 17-year-old dating a 25-year-old.

TMZ reports that law enforcement sources claim they won't investigate statutory rape involving a 17-year-old unless someone complains, even if the relationship is widely reported.

And as far as they are concerned, no one has launched a complain.

Fire for Fire : Yvonne Nelson slams David Oscar over “hypocritical” comments

Yvonne Nelson says citizens interested in seeing the energy crisis resolved should join the protest.

The Greater Accra Regional Police command has approved of the requested date and the routes for the #dumsormuststop protest vigil against government’s handling of the power crisis in the country.
Actress, Yvonne Nelson confirmed this in a Facebook post saying, “Meeting with the Regional Police Commander done, join us on the 16th! A peaceful and calm vigil. Our voices need to be heard”.
Earlier this week, Yvonne Nelson and rapper Sarkodie, through their lawyers wrote to the Greater Accra regional police commander to notify him of their intentions to lead a protest vigil against the government to show their frustration over the poor power supply. Ms. Yvonne, who started the social media hashtag #Dumsormuststop, announced that every Ghanaian citizen interested in seeing the problem resolved should join the protest.
The May 16 vigil will see a lot of celebrities and aggrieved Ghanaians gather at the University of Ghana football field and proceed peacefully to the Green park opposite the Villagio at the Tettey Quashie Interchange.

2015 Mother's Day: Ps. Nana Perbi, Supt. Kofi Sarpong et al. to set 'Koftown' on fire

It’s Mother’s Day again, the great season to celebrate and honour our dear mothers and express gratitude to them for the hardships they bear in bringing us up as children.

Nana Perbi Outreach Ministry with support from the Apostolic Church of Ghana is set to host this year’s event in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua with a day-to-remember event christened “My Mom & I -2015” on May 10.

The action-packed event to be staged at the Regional Assembly Branch of the Apostolic Church of Ghana at 2pm is uniquely designed to touch the life of every Ghanaian woman - whether a widow or childless.

Thousands of people are expected to gather at the church auditorium to observe the day listening to powerful sermons from several influential men of God in addition to soothing music from sensational gospel artistes like Supt. Kofi Sarpong, Bernice Offei, Ps. Nana Adjei Perbi and many others.

Ps Nana Perbi, President of the Nana Perbi Outreach Ministry, the main organizer of the event, told the media such a day is memorable for him as he takes the opportunity to celebrate his own mother.

“Let me say that my decision  to come out with this program is borne out of my love for my mum Aunty Hannah as I affectionately call her for taking good care of me throughout my time of birth till now and for all mothers, I owe you similar respect. May God richly bless you all,” Ps. Nana Perbi has maintained.

As a sign of respect to all mothers across the entire world, a presentation would be made to the widows, childless and underprivileged women to cushion them in life.

He called on institutions, businesses and individuals to support this worthy cause in any means possible.
